THE BLUE AND GOLD BANQUET
INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PARTY
Remember to start planning for this event at least 6 months ahead of time. The traditional spot on the west side of Wichita, the Sedgwick County Extension Education Center at Ridge Road and 21st Street North allows reservations 6 months ahead of time... and they fill up fast.
You may want a theme for the party. A theme may influence your choices in decorations, center pieces, food, activities, and guests.
Invite special guests, and introduce them. Examples may be the principals of the grade schools which scouts attend, a local police chief, or your elected officials.
Think about the food... Your choices are many here. You may choose to have a catered affair, or you might have a pot-luck dinner. Your choice may depend upon the number of guests attending, the theme of the night, or the affluence of the community. You may do a combination of the above, having dessert as the pot-luck. That might be a good opportunity for Akela and Scout to make the brownies together.
